Unleash your storytelling magic!
Having navigated through your own CYOA experience(s), you're now familiar with the flow and feel of interactive storytelling.
It's time to channel that inspiration into creating your very own CYOA story using Google Forms!
Why Google Forms?
It's true that I used something called Twine to create the story on the previous page, but unless you're feeling really adventurous, Google Forms is the much simpler option, and it allows you to create interactive stories easily, using a simple interface.
Step-by-Step Tutorial
Follow this detailed tutorial to learn how to use Google Forms to bring your CYOA story to life.
Start Building
Once you've watched the tutorial, begin drafting your CYOA.
Experiment with different story ideas and see how your decisions change the course of your tale.
As you saw in the video, you will need to have your story ready before you start creating the Google Form.
Have another look at the example story the speaker shows on the left side.
Then, write your story with branching options on paper (hint: you can always go back to the story on the previous page for step-by-step guidance)
Finally, copy it in Google Forms following the tutorial and check everything works OK.
π¬ Feedback and Reflection
Share the link to your Google Form story in the comments.
You will receive feedback from me, and maybe even your peers, if they wish to share their experiences with your story.
Reflect on Your Creation:
After creating your story, reflect on the process:
- What did you enjoy most about building your CYOA?
- What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?
- How has this activity influenced your view on storytelling?
